Nukta Fakti is an initiative of Nukta Africa, a digital media company specializing in the training and development of digital and data-driven news and tools. It holds a certificate of incorporation with the number 136487221. The company is registered as an Online Content Provider by the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) with license number TCRA/OCS-BL/064/2019. Additionally, it is a taxpayer with the Tax Identification Number (TIN) 136-487-221.

The NuktaFakti initiative serves as an extension of efforts to debunk misinformation. It commenced on May 1st, 2020, as the first Swahili fact-checking platform in Africa. Initially, its focus was on fact-checking misinformation related to COVID-19 and disseminating content through social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, via the handle @NuktaFakti, as well as on  website www.nukta.co.tz. Currently we debunking misinformation via a dedicated page  called  Nukta Fakti  which follows  all international fact-checking standards and policies
