Debunked: Kenyan MP’s did not eat in the bush following bill protest

The video was taken during the funeral of Francis Koka, the father of Silvestry Koka, a Member of Parliament in Tanzania.
One among the people in the video is Freeman Mbowe, a Chairperson of Democratic and Development Party (Chadema).

Dar es Salaam. Recently there has been a video trending on X (Formerly Twitter) with men in suits eating in bushes claiming that these men are kenyan parliamentarians who run after the kenya bill protest, therefore the claims are not correct.

The video, posted by the X account @AreaFada1, captioned: “Kenyan parliamentarians, after running for their lives ended up eating in the bush 🤣🤣🤣. Nigerian youths ooooo.

This will be benediction for Nigerian APC government, parliamentarians, low and high ministers, Ambassadors, ect ect. Kenya’s current dispensation is Just a friendly “good morning” compared to what’s looming and Awaits the so called giant of them all.”

Verdict: The claim is false.

According to Google Reverse Image Search, the video was taken during the funeral of Francis Koka, the father of Silvestry Koka, a Member of Parliament in Tanzania who died on May 22, 2024 and was buried on June 1, 2024.

One of the people shown in the video is Freeman Mbowe, a Former Member of Parliament and the Chairperson of Chadema, an opposition party in Tanzania.

Moreover, the search shows that the video was first posted on June 1, 2024, by Mbowe’s son, James Mbowe, on X and Instagram.

The posts document their participation in Mr. Koka’s funeral at Mkolowonyi Marangu, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, in accordance with Chagga funeral traditions.
